Dear GNAPGC Members and Friends
Our world has certainly had a rough go of it this year – I hope December finds you healthy and safe. I’m keeping my fingers and toes crossed that things will settle down as we head through this final month of 2020….only time will tell.
There are some changes happening with the Greater Naples Area Planned Giving Council – as of this month, the GNAPGC will be dissolving as an organization. This was a difficult decision for the board to make, but we hope that it will help streamline programs within the community.
If you paid your dues for the 2020-2021 year, they have been returned in full.
Going forward, the two Collier organizations to follow for programming similar to what we offered are the Collier-Lee Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Estate Planning Council. If you are not a member of one or both of these organization, take some time to review their websites and see if a membership with one would be a good fit for you.
If you want to specifically continue membership with a planned giving council, there are a few options for you:
1. Become a member of the National Association of Planned Giving Professionals. This is our “parent” national organization, but membership was not required to be a member of our local chapter. I personally have been a member of the national for several years and have found their seminars and resources to be outstanding.
2. The next closest Planned Giving Council associated with the National is located in Lee County – The Planned Giving Council of Lee County, Inc. For more information, please visit their website at www.plannedgivinglee.org. There is also a chapter in Sarasota called the Charitable Gift Planners of Southwest Florida.
Please, if you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out to me.
Wishing you good health and happiness,
